DVD authoring for real estate presentations
The DVD format entered the market years ago, but to this
day only a few companies utilise it's full potential. DVDs
have almost the same level of usability as a CD ROM, apart
from the ability to interactive directly with the computer.
But DVDs have far superior video quality to CDs.
Most companies only scratch the surface of what a DVD
can do by simply putting their main move presentation on
it. This is fine if you are happy with just normal playback,
but often consultants and buyers want more control. This
is where the interactive features of a DVD come into play
and where Archiform 3D has a strong advantage.
Features like motion menus and navigation using the DVD
remote control allow a presentation to be viewed from any
stage and for features that you can achieve with just a
straight movie presentation. Often these features are understated
by other companies due to the need to author a presentation
to take advantage of them – something that requires
time and expertise. For example, an interactive DVD allows
you to choose a level of a high rise building, fly to that
height and admire the view. Or you can skip from apartment
to apartment, room to room until you find what your after.
Items like corporate profiles can be featured as can part
projects. And an interactive DVD can have autoplay features
that sense if a DVD has been left unattended and then play
the most appropriate presentation by itself until you return.
Archiform 3D DVDs are also authored to wide-screen, so
you can fill plasma and LCD screens properly with no black
edges or distorted pictures.
Next time you are quoted on a DVD check to see what you
are getting. Is it interactive or just a straight play-through?
Is it wide-screen or the old 4:3 format? Are you getting
a true, animated user experience or just still images and
menus?
